What we do

Sands Befrienders play a vital role in offering support to bereaved families. The reassurance of talking to someone else who has been affected by the death of a baby and who is nearby to phone or to meet is invaluable.

Guernsey Sands has a local support group who can offer emotional support and practical help if your baby has died during pregnancy, at birth or shortly afterwards.

The death of a baby, or another loved one, is difficult to bear at anytime of the year. Yet at Christmas, with so much emphasis on children and families sharing happy times together, those feelings of grief can often seem overwhelming.

The Guernsey Sands Memorial Garden in the Foulon Cemetery is dedicated to the memory of all babies who have died. It is a tranquil place of reflection where families can remember their own baby in peace and is open all year round.
