Wave of Light 2018 (online event)

Monday 15 October 19:00-20:00 / Guernsey Sands Community Facebook Group

Each year the 9-15 October is Baby Loss Awareness Week which finishes on October 15 with the global ‘Wave of Light’.

This is an online Facebook Guernsey Sands Community Wave of Light 2018 event for those wishing to take part in this global event but from the comfort of your home with a supportive group.

If you’d like to take part in the Wave of Light, simply light a candle at 7pm on Monday 15th October and join others across the globe remembering the babies who lit up our lives for too short a time.

Please do take a picture of your candle burning and post it in the group.

Guernsey Sands is holding its sixth annual Lights of Love service in December 2018 at St Saviour’s Church on Friday 7 December from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

This Christmas service is for all who have been deeply touched by the death of a child, at any age or stage of the child’s life and is an opportunity to honour the loved ones no longer with us, before we celebrate Christmas.

This candlelit service by Reverend Linda Le Vasseur includes Christmas carols, readings, musical entertainment, candle lighting, memorial roll call and tag hanging in honour of your loved lost one and a few mementos of the evening followed by a light refreshment.

Children are welcome
This is a multi denominational service.

Please email if you would like a tag hung in your absence and any baby names to be included in the memorial roll call to [email protected].

If you are interested in helping organise the event or would like to hear a specific reading or do a reading, please email [email protected].
